Great Tree Giveaway
Greenscape gives away thousands of trees each year to the public as part of our fall Great Tree Giveaway. Come on down to our first-come-first-served drive-through event at the Jaguars stadium, choose up to three trees, and plant them with the instructions provided. The species available are announced here and on our social media pages a month ahead of time, so you can carefully select the species best suited to your property’s soil type, space and amount of sunlight. Don’t forget to water!
We are the official host of Jacksonville’s Arbor Day, by Mayoral Proclamation. While National Arbor Day is observed in April, Florida’s Arbor Day is observed on the third Friday in January as this a better time to plant a tree in Florida and get it established before the summer heat. This event helps the city maintain its status as a Tree City USA, an Arbor Day Foundation certification. You can do your part to grow our urban forest by planting a tree every year.
We’re grateful to the sponsors that make this highly anticipated event possible: City of Jacksonville, JEA, Florida Forest Service, CSX, Gate Petroleum, JaxPort and others. To inquire about a sponsorship, please send an email to info@greenscapeofjax.org.
