Greenscape Tree Giveaway

Annual Events

Arbor Day Festival and Tree Giveaway

Greenscape organizes Jacksonville’s official Arbor Day Celebration and schedules it on a date approved and designated each year by Mayoral Proclamation. The event changes venue annually to provide opportunities for all citizens to attend and participate. This event raises awareness of the important role trees play in our lives, offers professional advice to homeowners, and distributes free trees to increase our urban canopy.

THE 2022 GREAT TREE GIVEAWAY IS ON!

Greenscape and Keep Jacksonville Beautiful partner to give away free trees and collect paper documents for shredding.

JACKSONVILLE, FL – Despite a week where the First Coast was battered by both a nor’easter and a Category 1 hurricane, the skies are clearing and the Great Tree Giveaway will go on!  Greenscape of Jacksonville will be giving away free trees to First Coast residents for the 33rd year.  The contactless, drive-through event will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., at Lot E of TIAA Bank Field, 1680 E. Adams St., Jacksonville, FL 32202.

Once again, we are partnering with City of Jacksonville commission, Keep Jacksonville Beautiful, who will collect up to 2 (30) gallon bags of paper documents that will be hauled offsite for shredding, as part of  a nationwide initiative by Keep America Beautiful.  Last year, more than 4,000 pounds of paper was collected during the event. Long-time event sponsor Republic Services will provide free shredding services.

Greenscape will give away free trees to residents on a first-come, first-serve basis during the four-hour event. The tree giveaway is part of an annual Arbor Day celebration. The 3-gallon container trees being given away include the following species:

  • Chastetree
  • Live Oak
  • Winged Elm
  • Dahoon Holly
