Annual Event
The Root Ball
The Root Ball is the annual fundraiser for Greenscape of Jacksonville. Funds raised through this event assist in the ongoing operation of one of the nation’s longest-running tree groups that has provided education, advocacy, and trees in the ground right here in our city for more than 45 years.
Since 2007, Greenscape has partnered with the Late Bloomers Garden Club to produce the Root Ball, a fundraiser to help raise awareness of the importance of trees in Jacksonville and to assist in the support of the River City’s only tree-planting organization.

Annual Event
Greenscape Tree Giveaway
Greenscape is the official host of Jacksonville’s Arbor Day Celebration, held on a date set by Mayoral Proclamation. Jacksonville celebrates Arbor Day in November, which is a great time of year to plant a tree, according to the Florida Forest Service. Up to 2,000 trees are given away to the public at a drive-through event to raise awareness of the important role trees play in our lives, offer professional advice to homeowners, and to increase our urban canopy.
