GREENSCAPE RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD FROM TD BANK

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Sept. 10, 2020) – TD BANK has awarded GREENSCAPE OF JACKSONVILLE one of five $10,000 donations to environmental organizations within their national footprint. TD Bank employees all across Florida voted on the nominees and Greenscape was the winner. The grant is in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day this past April.

TD Bank has long been an advocate for tree planting and as an example of corporate stewardship, have sponsored numerous local tree plantings in partnership with Greenscape. These plantings typically take place in public parks located in under served areas of the community and are executed by their employees.

“We look forward each year to join the enthusiastic TD Bank volunteers for their day of service in Jacksonville. They don’t mind getting their hands dirty and enjoy the camaraderie, while improving outdoor spaces for many citizens” said Anna Dooley, Greenscape Executive Director. “We are very thankful that TD Bank employees voted for us to receive the donation so we can continue to green our city.”

“We are so pleased that our employees selected Greenscape of Jacksonville to receive TD Bank’s 2020 Earth Day employee-directed donation for Florida,” said Cindy Stover, North Florida Market President of Commercial, TD Bank. “While COVID-19 is preventing us from being able to gather together to plant trees in Jacksonville at this time, we are proud to continue supporting the great work that Greenscape makes possible for our community.”

Greenscape is celebrating 45 years as the not-for-profit tree organization in Jacksonville. The organization continues to fulfill its mission to plant, protect and promote trees and is credited with over 350,000 trees added to the local tree canopy.
