Mike Robinson (L) and FUFC President Joseph Anderson

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.,  June 2, 2021  – Greenscape of Jacksonville is proud to announce that past board president Mike Robinson has been given a Lifetime Achievement award by the Friends of our Urban Forest awards program of the Florida Urban Forestry Council. The program is sponsored by the Florida Urban Forestry Council.

A graduate of the University of Florida’s School of Forest Resources and Conservation, Mike began his professional career with a brief term with the Florida Forest Service. In 1979, he joined local utility provider, JEA, as the company’s first urban/utility forester.

During Mike’s career, he has served as a utility representative to several urban forest related associations, including serving as president of the Florida Urban Forestry Council in 2004 and 2005.

After retirement, Mike has continued to contribute to urban forestry programs including serving as president of Greenscape of Jacksonville, Jacksonville’s premiere tree advocacy group.

“Greenscape of Jacksonville is so proud that Mike Robinson has been recognized with a lifetime Achievement Award by the Florida Urban Forestry Council,” said Anna Dooley, Greenscape’s executive director. “We feel there isn’t a more deserving recipient.”
