Tree Planting at Cuba Hunter Park

Saturday, April 10, 2021, 9 a.m. – Rain or Shine

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.,  April 9, 2021  – Greenscape of Jacksonville, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching North Florida through planting, protecting and promoting trees, will plant fifteen (15) trees this Saturday in Cuba Hunter Park. The park is located at 4380 Emerson Street in South East Jacksonville.

The 10,000 square foot Skate Park is perhaps the park’s most beloved feature. It boasts a seven foot quarter pipe and a six foot half pipe that have helped it to earn the title as one of the best Skate Parks in the United States. In addition, this jewel of Jacksonville’s Park System offers basketball, soccer, a playground and plenty of room for picnics.

Greenscape of Jacksonville was founded in 1975 and is recognized as a leader in tree planting nationally and credited with the addition of over 350,000 trees to our local canopy. The bulk of tree plantings have been the efforts of thousands of volunteers over the years.

This project will still be accomplished with volunteers, but this time it will be the Greenscape Board of Directors doing all the work. This Board is ready to get their hands a little dirty and set an example for other potential tree planting volunteers.
