Lisa Grubba named Executive Director of Greenscape of Jacksonville

Jacksonville, FL, (December 20, 2021) –  Lisa Grubba has been promoted to Executive Director at Greenscape of Jacksonville, Inc. after six months as Interim.

She succeeded Anna Dooley, who retired after nearly 25 years of service to Greenscape.

Grubba is an award-winning journalist and Florida Master Naturalist who covered environmental matters in Northeast Florida for more than a decade. She founded Florida Field Notes, a digital magazine, and hosted a radio segment, “Wild Florida,” on WJCT 89.9 FM’s First Coast Connect with Melissa Ross.

Grubba began her career in finance with Barnett Bank, later managing the statewide operations of a regional company. She holds a Bachelor’s in Finance from the University of Central Florida, a Master’s in Journalism from Harvard, and a Master Naturalist certification from the University of Florida.

“We’re excited about having Lisa as Executive Director and are looking forward to the new year,” said Board President Kim Bongiovanni.

“I am so pleased to accept the position as Executive Director and I thank the Board of Directors for their confidence in me,” Grubba said.  “Together, I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish.”

Grubba and Becky Henson, Greenscape’s Assistant Director, will lead the organization’s efforts to plant, protect and promote trees.
