We’re Hiring!

We’re Hiring: Program and Operations Director

Greenscape of Jacksonville, Inc. | Full-Time | Jacksonville, FL Salary: $60,000–$72,000 | Health benefit stipend | PTO

Greenscape of Jacksonville has spent more than fifty years planting, protecting, and promoting trees across Northeast Florida – and we’re looking for the right person to help us carry that mission into its next chapter. If you are passionate about urban forestry, community engagement, and environmental stewardship, and you thrive in a dynamic, hands-on environment where your work genuinely moves the needle, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

The Program and Operations Director is a senior, full-time position that sits at the heart of everything Greenscape does. Working in close partnership with the Executive Director, you will manage the daily delivery of our tree planting programs, lead grant management and reporting, coordinate volunteers, oversee bookkeeping and financial administration, support fundraising events including our beloved annual Root Ball gala, and help execute communications and outreach – all in service of expanding Jacksonville’s urban tree canopy and the communities that depend on it. This is not a normal desk job. You’ll be in the field at plantings, at the table with community partners, and behind the scenes keeping a mission-driven organization running at its best. The ideal candidate brings experience in nonprofit program management, comfort with full-cycle bookkeeping in QuickBooks, familiarity with donor database tools like Bloomerang, and a genuine love for trees and the communities they serve.

Why Greenscape

Greenscape of Jacksonville has been transforming this city for fifty years – one tree, one school, one policy at a time. We have contributed 356,750 trees and counting to Jacksonville’s urban canopy, planted at every public school in Duval County, and built youth education programs that connect the next generation to the value of trees. We have informed urban forestry management plans at the local, state, and national level, advocated for tree-friendly legislation, and built the partnerships and community capacity needed for a stronger, healthier, and more equitable canopy for generations to come. Our team is small, our mission is clear, and every person on staff leaves a mark on this city that is part of our growing legacy.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit program management, urban forestry, ecology, environmental education, or a related field
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Pro, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Drive
  • Experience with Bloomerang or similar donor/volunteer database
  • Grant management or support experience preferred
  • Passion for urban forestry, environmental equity, and community engagement
  • Strong communicator, self-starter, and collaborative team player
  • Must reside in Northeast Florida; valid driver’s license required
  • Availability for some Saturdays and evenings; must pass a background check
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. and work comfortably outdoors in Florida weather
