Greenscape of Jacksonville Announces Retirement of Executive Director Lisa Grubba

Greenscape of Jacksonville announces that Executive Director Lisa Grubba will retire in the fourth quarter of this year. Grubba has served as a dedicated leader and advocate for Jacksonville’s urban forest, and her departure marks the end of a significant chapter in the Greenscape’s history.

“I am so proud of the progress we’ve achieved in just four short years,” Grubba said. “We’ve expanded our mission and improved our operations, but what has been most impactful to me are the deep relationships we’ve made in the community. It has been an honor to shepherd this organization through its 50th year, and I’m excited to see who the next visionary leader will be.”
Under Grubba’s leadership, Greenscape has continued its legacy as one of the oldest urban tree advocacy organizations in the nation, expanding community partnerships, enhancing Jacksonville’s tree canopy, and fostering environmental stewardship.

“Lisa has been an incredible force for Greenscape and for the greater Jacksonville community,” said Greenscape’s Board Chair Zimmermann Boulos. “Her commitment to environmental education and urban tree planting has left a lasting legacy. We are deeply grateful for her service.”

Greenscape’s Board of Directors has initiated the search process for a new executive director. The organization is committed to finding a dynamic leader to build on Grubba’s achievements and guide Greenscape into its next phase of growth and impact. Grubba will remain in her role through the transition to ensure continuity and support a smooth leadership handoff.
